Wheelie Day Big Day In

On Wednesday it was the Junior school's Big Day In. In spite of the poor weather we managed to get our decorated wheels displayed. Thanks to Lexie for taking these photos.

We were very proud of all the work you put into your creations. Congratulations to our prize winners - Lily (3rd Year 2 decorated bikes), Coco (1st Year 2 decorated bikes) and Ruby (1st Year 2 decorated scooters).

Next time I want to ...

Ella - help more people doing their poppies
James - not put the cross on my poem
Thomas K - do it by myself
Lily - do different kinds of decorations on my bike
Coco - put some flowers on my bike
Niamh - bring my bike

St John

This afternoon we learnt about St John and how to get their help if we need it. First Alannah, Ella and Brooke N got to try on some of the uniform items.

Next we found out about the ambulance and some of the equipment, like the oxygen tank and masks.

Then we looked at some pictures of situations when you might need to get help from the emergency services and which one would be best to help - ambulance, fire or police. Sometimes you need more than one. Finally we practised phoning for help on broken phones. You should never practise on a real phone. We had to know our name, address and phone numbers for this. Do you know yours?

Super Readers

Congratulations to Lexie, Ruby, Lily, Ella, Vianca, Rosa, Brooke N, Riley and James who have received their reading stickers today. Great reading everybody!

Class News

Congratulations to Coco who has a new baby sister called Havana. We know you will be a wonderful big sister to her and a big help for Mum and Dad. Coco shared her news, showed us her hospital bracelet and read us a book about new babies.

Ruby also brought her kittens in to show us. They were a huge hit and loved exploring the classroom. Sushi thought the book case was a great place to rest up and Thomas enjoyed climbing up the wall behind the whiteboard.

Term 1 Week 9 Assembly

What a colourful day it was in Room 19, but a very somber black day in the staff room. Our mufti day on Friday was to acknowledge all the great learning that goes on in our school for the diverse range of children and to highlight what risk losing due to the GERM (Global Education Reform Movement). We encourage everyone to stand up for the future of our schools and the education of all our children.

On a brighter note, thank you to Room 16 for hosting the Year 2 Assembly. We loved the clips you showed us about perseverance - they were very funny and had a great message about keeping on trying.

Congratulations to Matthias, Amelia and Lily who received certificates. Keep up the great work - we are proud of you.
